Our New Rental

When we got our first rental we told people from our congregation that we were moving and would be going to a different building.  We told them it was because we weren’t able to find a place for rent in San Rafael.  Each person we told that said “we will find you a place.”
We just [...]

When Francisco picked us up this morning he told us that the rental we just got may have a problem getting Internet. Which of course is a HUGE priority for us.
So he told us about a house for rent across the street from him for $250 a month. He also said that he [...]

I love Photoshop! If anyone has kids or takes pictures of kids you know it is vary hard to get all the kids smiling at the same time. That’s where Photoshop comes in.
Sometimes it seems like you can take 50 photos and one kid will be smiling in one and not in the [...]

American Cookies

Costa Rican food is really good! So since we’ve been here we’ve eaten only typical food (as they call it.)
Tonight one of our gringo friends was having a cooking class. She was teaching some of the Ticas how to make American cookies. As we were making the cookies the ladies often commented [...]

Baño!

Yesterday afternoon I took a nap.  I must of had a lot to drink before I went to sleep.  Because I had to go pee half way through my nap but I didn’t wake up.  It became part of my dream looking for the bathroom.
After looking for the bathroom for what felt like forever I [...]

That Made Me Feel Really Cool!

Last night we were taking one of James’ customers out to dinner. He was staying at the Garden Court which is the same hotel we stayed at the first few days here in Costa Rica.
So while we waited for Richard in the lobby I decided to look around in the gift shop. When [...]

Zipline! Waahoo!!

Yesterday we went to Jaco and I went down a zipline. It was so awesome!! I think it might be my favorite thing here in Costa Rica.
James was really close to going but at the last minute he just couldn’t.
The funny thing is the scariest part for me was the drive to the [...]

Are You Staying In Costa Rica?

Today Francisco and his wife took Marcela the boys and me to the Tico Market (Tico=Costa Rican).  We dropped our list off at the store and while they were getting our items we went around the corner to get fresh fruits and veggies.
I stood off to the side while Marcela got the food.  People would [...]

Comida China (Chinese Food)

Tonight we tried out Chinese Food. It took some talking to get James to go.
It was really weird ordering Chinese Food in Spanish. And of course they had Guanbana and Pineapple juice just like every other place in Costa Rica.
When it came to ordering I didn’t see anything that said sweet and sour [...]

Talking In My Sleep

Yesterday before bed I was studying spanish for an hour or so. I stopped because I was getting really tired.
All night last night I was dreaming about speaking spanish. When I told James about it this morning he said “I know, I heard you”.
So I was speaking spanish in my sleep.
